PROGRAM

At the crossroads between the Vipava and Soška valleys, on the border between Slovenia and Italy, there are two cities. Once one, then divided, today open again and in cooperation.

We will start the tour in the center of Nova Gorica. We will walk through the square past the best ice cream shop. Maybe a scoop of the best ice cream? We will observe the merging of socialist architecture with modern urban planning, we will touch on the history of the city and its surroundings, as well as life along the border.

We will take a city bus to Italian Gorizia.

The city of Gorica had a great influence on the development of the history of the area and the border issue, a dispute between opposing forces in the last century. Despite the opposites, in 2011 the story of the two Goricas was linked by an open border and cooperation.

We will walk through the lively streets of Gorica, past the market, “reštel” and end up in the square under the castle…

A thousand-year-old history is told by the medieval castle, which overlooks the romantic hustle and bustle of the old city center with bourgeois houses, the market and churches…

We will climb to the view below the castle and feel the life along the border.

Then return by bus to Nova Gorica.

PROGRAM

Na križišču med Vipavsko in Soško dolino, na meji med Slovenijo in Italijo ležita mesti. Nekoč eno, nato razdvojeni, danes spet odprti in v sodelovanju.

Ogled bomo začeli v centru Nove Gorice. Peš se bomo odpravili po trgu mimo najboljše sladoledarne. Morda kepica najboljšega sladoleda? Opazovali bomo spajanje socialistične arhitekture z modernim mestnim snovanjem, dotaknili se bomo zgodovine mesta in okolice, ter življenja ob meji.

Z mestnim avtobusom se bomo zapeljali v Italjansko Gorizio.

Mesto Gorica je imelo velik vpliv na razvoj zgodovine območja in obmejnega vprašanja, spora med nasprotujočimi si silami v zadnjem stoletju. Kljub nasprotjem se je 2011 zgodba dveh Goric povezala z odprto mejo in sodelovanjem.

Sprehodili se bomo skozi živahne ulice Gorice, mimo tržnice, »reštela« in postali na trgu pod gradom…

Tisočletno zgodovina pripoveduje srednjeveški grad, ki gleda na romantični vrvež starega mestnega jedra z meščanskimi hišami, tržnico in cerkvami…

Povzpeli se bomo na razgled pod gradom in začutili življenje ob meji.

Sledi vrnitev z avtobusom Novo Gorico.
